Saturday was a chilly, put the chains on the truck tires trek to the camp for a burning of the refuse pile. 3 years in the making, all this dried out wood, branches, stumps, etc., made for a toasty bon fire. Covered dishes in cast iron pans over the burn barrel made for tasty treats. Sloppy joes and chili, plus snacks, veggies, baked goods and beverages were enjoyed in the fresh air.

Yes the baby chicks, just 2 days old, are finally here. They are so very cute and fuzzy. Noisy and messy too. They will stay in the house under the light for about a month, then off to the shed and larger quarters for a month or two, then off to join the rest of the girls. We got 5 Rhode Island Reds, 10 Araucanas, 10 Pearl White Leghorns, and 1 Exotic Chick. Gotta love them!

I did finally get the Yucca plant removed. House power washed and front porch summer decorated. Wicker patio furniture painted, and picnic table and benches moved to the swimming pool deck. Whew!!!!!! Makes me tired just thinking about it. New baby chicks will be here in two weeks. Really looking forward to that. I promise, I'll post more pics, just as soon as school is out. 7 more days, but who's counting.
